Guide to Dog Social Networking

Now who says dogs cannot receive mail?  One of the 1000 Best Dogs in the world received his.  Yoda Bear of Australia leads the nomination in the unusual Social Networking websites.  His accomplishment was scored in the Social Reward and Recognition Space.  What started as an attention grabber for a Travel Tour Guide Business took social networking to higher and very interesting level.

The gift for Yoda Bear was a recognition for his being one of the 1000 best given by the very people who love him that much.  So when his package did not arrive on team Yoda Bear was wracked with anxiety driving his owners to check with the postal office in their town in Australia.  Yoda Bear got his gift and his owners slept well that night.

If you want your pooch to get that much-coveted reward get him nominated at the Social Reward and Recognition Space.  He deserves that much after bringing in the newspaper and sniffing your socks.   Get your dog the first nomination in the block, and let him strut for a whole month savoring his triumph.

A Different Kind of Social Networking at Work

If that is not enough, there is a new cult going on in a Boston Park.  While the dogs prance and frolic wearing an unusual device around their necks, their owners are busy chatting away exchanging interesting tidbits about their beloved little or big pet dogs.  The device is designed to acquaint dogs with other dogs, and importantly owners with other others.  The little chat between owners may lead into more interesting discussions over a glass of wine or over a business proposal.    Such is the extent of SNIF or Social Networking in Fur.  This outdates the usual acquaintance that has been staged in parks and other dog-friendly neighborhoods.

The SNIF device is a sensor that documents a dog’s “social” or unfriendly interaction with other dogs.  When a collar tone issues a succession of colored lights, the same alerts the base station or the owner.  Once the webpage is available, owners will be alerted to any disturbance or harassment his dog is facing – online.  Owners will know how the walk at the park or in the front lawn went.  Pet owners will also meet other dog owners online.   In short SNiF is another digital technology for our canine friends.

From the Doghouse to the Webpage

Now you can show off your pet in a webpage just for furry friends.  Your pooch will get a chance to meet more friends online.  They can also pimp up their space with all the listings of new friends, photos, and blogs.  Life is getting fast-paced for the disdainful little poodle or the clumsy St. Bernard.   Announce their birthdays, weddings, and other great events in their lives through the webpage.  Who knows they may find their soul mates there?  In Dogster, both dogs and pet owners get to socialize on line.

Not here in UnitedDogs.  The socializing is strictly for the dogs.  They don’t want their masters around.  They become shy when somebody tries to read their emails and incoming messages.   In Hot or Not your pet may want to send his best digital photo.  Therefore, take many as you can and let him choose what he thinks will get more positive ratings in the website.  Remember you pooch overly rated himself.  So do him justice.   If you think you must intervene in his choice of female friends, perhaps you can show him the pictures of the latest females on the web.  He may accede to your choice for him.

Give Your Dog a Break

If your dog is choosy about the friends he makes, then choose the right social networking for him.  You will know if prefers to share photos and share some of his vital statistics.  Of course, he would not want you to be so frank about his past.  Unless of course if his life is on the line.  Perhaps, he shares a quirk with some dog online.  That might save him a lot of trouble trying to solve a puzzle about his being different.

If your dog love the outdoors and frequents the park often, then get him the SNiF.  Both of you will have peace of mind.  He will know you are on the alert and will come running if anything upsets him.  On the other way around, he will know if you are busy chatting up another owner and trading canine secrets.

There will be always something coming up for your doggie.  He may not be sitting too long at the steps.  He will have a better social life – online or offline.  It’s up to you now to choose the right networking for him.

Happy Dogs Have Busy Lives

When your doggie’s social life picks up, expect a change in routine.  He may get a lot of mails, gifts, and even some dates.  Just make sure that you give the right address so those gifts and letters won’t get lost in transit.  He may find that a nuisance and badger you all the time.

He may want to go to the park more often and this may disrupt your schedule.  Set a time for this and make him understand that there always a right time for everything.  Even doggies have to observe rules, busy social lives or not.

His wardrobe and grooming may be upped to another level.  Make sure that he is spiffy when he gets to the door.  As all dog lovers know, their dogs have to be the best-looking dog in the block – with well-trimmed nails, brushed hair, leopard print dog collars.  A time will come you have to stock up smart doggie calling cards for the friends he meets at the park.

When the weather gets cold in winter, your little pooch can busy himself with updating his blogs, browse the internet for the latest in dog fashion.  At this point, he may need all the help he can get from you.
